Colton's Baptism!!

February 18, 2007

Colton did such a great job! He just smiled at everyone... he was having a great time! Kyla was eager to see what was going on so I held her up so she could see.

The Godparents

We are very blessed to have my "little" brother Kris and his wife Justina as Colton's Godparents.

The happy family:

The Gown

Okay. This is a gown - not a dress. It is a baptismal gown with significant family meaning. This gown was made by my Grandmother on my mother's side (Colton's great-grandmother). It was made from the parachute lining of my Grandfather's cousin's parachute from WWII. It has been worn by my uncle, my mother, my cousins and their children, my brother's son - William, Kyla, and now Colton. Pretty cool, huh?

"Thank you everyone for attending my baptism and for all the wonderful gifts. I am a very blessed little boy to have such a wonderful family!"

Here is Colton with two of his cousins Noah and Caden. Aren't they a handsome bunch?

Happy Valentine's Day!

For Valentine's Day Kyla and I made heart shaped cookies for all of her friends at daycare. Her favorite part was decorating the cookies. She had frosting and sprinkles all over the place. Why didn't I get any pictures of that?

Hello!

Colton is getting so big. He's really starting to chatter. I just love his little squeals (except at 2:00 in the morning). He's such a mello baby. He really only fusses when he's hungry or bored.

It's Potty Time!

That's right! Kyla has begun potty training! She couldn't wait to sit on her very own potty. As soon as Brady had it put together she grabbed one of her books, pulled down her pants (diaper still on) and sat on her potty. If only the rest of training was that easy...

Helping Mommy

Kyla and I decided to make cookies for Daddy's birthday. Here Kyla is helping Mommy clean off the beater. Say, "Cheese!"

Daycare Christmas Pagent

Every year Kyla's daycare puts on a Christmas program. Each child is assigned a role and they re-enact the birth of baby Jesus. Kyla was the star of the show... literally!

Kyla as the star of Bethlehem

The whole crew - Linda too!

Then the kids sang songs for us.

Santa Claus even came! Kyla would only get close enough to give him a high-five, but Colton didn't seem to mind.

Cookies!!

Kyla enjoyed making Christmas cookies this year. First at my mom's...
Then at Auntie Sara's. Her, Noah and Caden did such a good job decorating...
and eating!

Christmas: Day 1 Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve with my Uncle Frank, Aunt Lana and my cousins down in New Prague. Aunt Lana always has a wonderful spread of food. Kyla couldn't seem to keep her little hands off of the cookie plate. She had a great time playing with her second cousins. Colton - well he didn't really know what was going on.Kyla, Laura, Emma, and Jesika

Christmas: Day 2

Merry Christmas!! We spent Christmas morning together in our P.J.'s. Kyla was so excited to see what Santa Claus had brought for her. She liked opening her presents but she loved playing in the wrapping paper!!! Later that day we had the family over. We had some wine, opened presents, had some more wine, waited for what seemed like eternity for the roast to get done, and oh yeah, had some pomegranate punch! Whew! Just before dinner there was a knock on the door. Uncle Kris, Auntie Justina, Judaya, and Will had driven up from Marshall for Christmas!! Grandpa and Grandma thought they couldn't come until the next day. SURPRISE!
