Kyla's Birthday Party!

Guess where we went!! We had been to a birthday party here earlier and Kyla HAD to have her party here. What a great place for birthday parties!! The kids can all play and if they get stuck Mom can go in and save the day.

Here's the very happy birthday girl.

Rebecca and Stella are having a ball! hee hee.

And here is Miss Evelyn. Isn't she cute?

The whole birthday gang...

Here is Colton and his friend Gabe. Gabe is handing Colton a napkin. I don't quite remember why, but SO CUTE!!

Here's Sophia!

Cousins Judaya and Will even came!! They have a very long drive to come up here!

Kyla Turns 4!

Of course we had to have a princess cake...
When we were growing up on our birthday we got to choose the dinner menu. So, I thought that would be a fun tradition to carry on. When I asked Kyla what she wanted for her birthday dinner, her repsonse was, "Pickles, ketchup, and french fries. Oh, and Corn Dogs." So that's what we had (along with some beans and fruit salad). The grandparents must have thought we were crazy at first, but it was a lot of fun.

Here's the birthday princess. She insisted on wearing last year's Christmas dress for her party. And notice how delicately she's eating her pickle. :-)
Time to open presents!!
"I'm 4!!"

"YEAH!"
Kyla loves the stroller she received for her babies.

Here's the whole gang.

Happy Halloween!!

Kyla dressed up as Cinderella and Colton was a lion. Kyla just LOVED her dress and Colton just LOVED roaring at everyone and everything. Brady hooked up the trailor to the 4 wheeler and threw on a couple of hay bales for us to sit on. The Peterson's came up and joined in our Trick-or-Treating fun. The kids did a great job! I didn't think they would last as long as they did!

Thank you, Grandma!

So, Grandma MariBeth sent the kids a package of fun Halloween outfits. At first it was a great idea to try them on! Look, Kyla's smiling!

Colton wasn't such a fan.

I guess Kyla changed her mind. They love the outfits though! They just didn't want to put them on right then and there.

"I cold, Momma."

Colton was playing with shirt one morning at breakfast and managed to pull it up over his head...

Well, you might as well take it off...

"I cold, Momma."
Goofy kid.

Happy Birthday Colton!!!

Colton is now 2. 2!!! I hate how fast the kids are growing. With each new stage I love that they're growing and learning so much, but I hate that they're growing and learning so much.

Colton's cake was pretty cool. Daddy picked it out!

A new wagon!!

Here's my baby boy. My heart aches a little more with each candle on the cake.

Hello! We got to go and visit Uncle Kris and Auntie Justina again!! Mom and Dad were very honored to stand up and be Baby Max's Godparents at his baptism. Kyla and I were just excited to come and play!

All the grandkids:

Max, Judaya, Will, Colton, and Kyla

Movie night! Notice Colton has to have something in his hand. Oh good, a bat. Careful of your sister, Buddy!

And of course, the baptism! We got to the church a little early and so I brought the children up to the front pew to get everyone settled. I no more than turned my back for 30 seconds and Colton takes off. Now, granted there are maybe 20 people seated in church at this point, but I'm still trying to contain him. Colton runs right up to the alter and crawls underneath it! I'm trying to keep my cool, not yell, but let him know that this is NOT funny. I'm trying to talk to him sternly through clenched teeth when up pops his little head and says in his NOT-AT-ALL quiet voice, "I hide!" Now, I'm just trying not to laugh. I finally got him out there. Now as if that wasn't enough... we're in the middle of the service and Colton finds that this is an ideal time to discover my chest. I'm trying to keep him contained by holding him when he starts grabbing and poking. "Colton, no touch." This catches Kyla's attention and she says, "Colton those are mommies boobs." To which Colton says loudly, "BOOBS?" Poke, poke. Grab, grab. Oh, seriously, is there a hole I can crawl into? We finally made it through the service and I wasn't at all surprised when the pastor very politely asked us to never return again. No, he didn't, but I wouldn't blame him if he did.

The State Fair!!

Finally, updates!! So, they're from August. At least they're here, right?

The best part of the State Fair for the kids was the rides! Colton couldn't wipe that smile off his face if he wanted to! He didn't quite understand that the rides had to come to an end at some point.

He got over that as soon as he got on the next ride.

And the next one.

I just really like this picture.

John Deere

We couldn't keep Colton off the John Deere's. Like Father, like son.

On this one, Colton patted the seat next to him as to tell me to sit down. Then he said, "Go?" Translation - are you ready to go. When I said yes, he made his tractor noises and started turning the steering wheel. Then he said, "Down." Translation - we're here. So cute.

Now he's taking Kyla for a ride.

One final picture.
