Ahhhh...
I absolutely LOVE this picture! The kids were so tired and we all climbed into Kyla's bed for story time. I don't think I even made it half way through the story and I could hear Colton's rhythmic pattern with his nuk and Kyla's deep breathing. I dared to stop reading and peek and sure enough they were both asleep! I gently climbed off the bed and ran downstairs to grab the camera!
Day Care Field Trip!
Once again I had the opportunity to chaparone the Day Care Field Trip to Fawn-Doe-Rosa. I LOVED this trip last year and LOVED this trip again this year. I just love watching all the kids interact with the animals.
Here's Kyla a lot more comfortable this year feeding the deer. She did have an encounter with a buck that had her wary of them the rest of the day. The deer just wander around looking for food and it's not unlike them to nudge your hand with their nose. Well, this huge 12 point buck came up behind Kyla and nudged her hand looking for food. It took her by surprise and scared her so she went scrambling to get away from him and fell. She didn't get hurt but she was really shook up. The rest of the day she would only feed the Does.

Colton too was more at ease this year.

I got the job of carrying the bucket of food. The kids couldn't keep their hands out of it. They just loved feeding the animals. As we were walking they would just come up and stick their hands in the bucket and after ahile I didn't think much of it - until... I was distracted watching the kids do something totally adorable and I noticed that whoever was digging for food in the bucket was taking awhile. I turned my head to see this Doe had just walked up to me and helped herself! OOPS!
This was Kyla's favorite part of the day - the Pony Rides!
Last year Colton didn't really know what to think, but this year he had a blast!
This kid has no fear! I was just waiting for this goat to chomp on Colton's fingers!
This was wild! These two girls (maybe 11 in age?) were sitting on a log by the pond and this huge buck just wanders over and sits down on the grass in front of them! One of the girls just reaches out and starts petting it like a dog!! UNREAL!! He sat there for quite a while.
Here are some of the kids being goofy.

Feed the Starving Animals
Oh, my boy. You'd think that I never feed the kid. I happend to spill some dry cereal on the floor and all of a sudden I hear a, "ME!" from across the room followed by the loud scamper of feet. You should have seen the mad dash. I'm not sure who got there first, but both Abby and Colton were on a mission.

The Stink Eye
No, Colton isn't giving me the Stink Eye. We think he was stung by a wasp. This actually looks better than when I picked him up from daycare. I hardly recognized him - his right eye was darn near swollen shut. Doing the "mom thing" I called the clinic and they suggested that I bring him in to Urgent Care. I didn't think it was that important so I asked if there was an opening first thing the next morning. Lucky for me there was. Great! We had an appointment at 8:30 the next morning. I no sooner hung up the phone and round the kids up to go in the house when Colton takes a digger in the drive way. No big deal, right? He's done that thousands of times before. Well this time he just cries out, "Momma!" and won't put any weight on his right foot. CRAP!! Urgent care, here we come. We had plans to go to my parents that night to celebrate my dad's birthday, so Brady and Kyla went to my parents house and Colton and I headed off to Urgent Care. $40, 3 hours, and a couple of X-Rays later, we were informed that the X-Ray looked good and, "Yup, he was bit by a bug." Great. Off to Grandpa's birthday we go! Colton was such a trooper. He didn't care much for the X-Ray machine so I had to get up on the table with him. Other than that he was so good, so happy.
Isn't She Cute?

Road Trip!
Happy Fourth of July!!
Here we go! Off to Uncle Kris and Auntie Justina's house for the Fourth of July weekend. Poor Colton put on his cool shades and got a little shut eye.
Here's Colton meeting baby Max. He wanted to hug and kiss him all weekend! We had to constantly remind him to be gentle. He's a boy! He doesn't know what "gentle" is!
And Uncle Brady holding his nephew.
Nice, baby, nice. Colton could not stay away from Max all weekend!

Colton's favorite game all weekend was trying to escape the back yard. Anytime the door was left open or our heads were turned, the kid was gone! Stinker.
Colton had absolutley no interest in any of the water play. The poor kid just sweat out the weekend playing with all the cool toys. Lord know how he loves the Cozy Coupe.
